Dating back to the
18th century, Fattoria Quercia al Poggio was once a
rural village home to a small community of farm workers
consisting of around 10 families. The village was completely
self sufficient: shepherds, farmers and woodcutters
exchanged their goods and the remainder was then sold
at the market. Vallombrosan monks also resided here
up until two centuries ago. The estate is surrounded
by vineyards and olive groves and is situated 400 metres
high on a hill in the heart of the Chianti region. Top-quality
biological wine and extra-virgin olive oil are produced
by the estate and the restored stone buildings are now
apartments dedicated to our guests.
